Harry, a reality TV star best known for the Netflix series Too Hot to Handle, was one of 14 contestants on Dancing With the Stars Season 32. He was partnered with professional dancer Rylee Arnold, who is a new pro on Dancing With the Stars and the younger sister of former pro Lindsay Arnold.
From their first dance on Dancing With the Stars Season 32, Harry and Rylee — who came in sixth place — have sparked dating rumors for their chemistry on and off the floor. The rumors continued when they remained friends after Season 32 ended and continually posted each other on social media. Now, Harry is setting the record straight once and for all, while revealing a secret fans didn’t know about his love life while he was on Dancing With the Stars. What happened with Harry Jowsey and Rylee Arnold after Dancing With the Stars and are they together? The answer to the second question is no. Harry confirmed on the first episode of his new podcast, “Boyfriend Material,” on April 30, 2024, that he and Rylee are not together and never dated. However, that doesn’t mean that he was telling the whole truth about his love life.
As for what happened, Harry revealed on the podcast that he was in a “secret relationship” while he was on Dancing With the Starsthat ended because of attention on him and Rylee. “On my reality TV journey, the last stop was Dancing With the Stars. I know what you’re thinking, ‘Harry, are you and Rylee dating? Are we together? Am I leading her on? Are we hooking up?'” he said. “What if I told you, I was in a secret relationship at the start of Dancing With the Stars and all those edits brought me and my girlfriend at the time apart?”
Harry went on to explain that he had never watched Dancing With the Stars before he was on it, so he Googled all the pro before he officially met and learned who his partner was. He also revealed that his first choice for his partner was pro Emma Slater, who he was friends with prior to Dancing With the Stars. “My first preference was Emma Slater because we’re friends. We’ve known each other for a while,” he said. “She’s a Dancing With the Stars pro. She’s won a Mirrorball. She knows how to move. I really wanted to be matched up with her. I got a text from Emma saying, ‘Hey, surprise, I’m actually not your partner.’ So I start spiraling. I don’t know what to do.”
When he filmed the scene where he met Rylee and learned who his partner was, Harry revealed that he almost walked out of the room because he didn’t know who she was before Rylee pulled him back in. “I go to the studio. I go to the door. I look around and there’s probably 20 people. There are cameras everywhere,” he said. “There are producers everywhere, and no one is saying a word and I look across from me and there’s this cute little blonde girl called Rylee. I had no f—g idea who this lady was because her first year as a pro and she didn’t come up in my extensive research. Right as I’m out to walk out of the room and call my manager, Rylee walks after me with this beaming beautiful smile on her face and introduces herself as my partner.”
Harry also confirmed that he was faithful to his secret girlfriend while he and Rylee were on Dancing With the Stars. “She was so sweet, but remember guys, I had a secret girlfriend at the time, so I wasn’t even thinking about that. I was on my good boy behavior. I was boyfriend material,” he said.
He also confirmed that he and Rylee had a conversation early on in their time on Dancing With the Stars, where he told her that they would never date because he simply wasn’t “the right guy” for her. “Rylee and I set boundaries from the start. I told her, ‘I am not the right guy for you. I love and care about you enough to tell you that I am not the right guy,'” he said. “I’ve got a very colorful past and she’s so fresh to this scene and this industry, it would feel like I was robbing her of her 20s and I was taking the best parts of her and bring her into all this drama. I know I’m not the easiest guy to date, especially after everything that’s been online and on dating shows. I know, number one, that’s bad for her brand. Number two, that’s bad for her mental health. I wanted to protect her from that, and we had that conversation from the start.”
He continued, “I’m sorry if this answer breaks some hearts. I’m here to confirm once and for all, Rylee and I have never been in any type of relationship. We never leaned into it. We never put on any sort of act. It was just organic. What you saw was how it was. It was amazing love, an amazing friendship and an amazing bond we had together.”
As for what happened to his secret girlfriend, Harry revealed that he tried to get back together with his girlfriend after they broke up during Dancing With the Stars. He explained that he even ordered an engagement ring and bought her multiple pieces of expensive jewelry in hopes that she would take him back. “I call her and I profess her love. ‘I’ll give you my Instagram logins, I’ll give you my bank logins, I’ll unfollow every single female that I follow in hopes that it makes you happy. I sai you can read every text message you want because you, my love, are my lady and I want to have your hand in marriage,'” he said.
Harry realized the relationship was over when his girlfriend was supposed to fly to Los Angeles, where he planned to propose to her, but she never did, which led Harry to block her phone number and block her on social media. While Harry didn’t reveal who his secret girlfriend was, many fans suspect that it was Love Is Blind Season 6 star Jessica Vestal, who he was photographed with in June 2023, three months before Dancing With the Stars Season 32 premiered. It’s believed that Harry and Jess met on Season 2 of The Perfect Match, Netflix’s reality TV dating series which brings together singles from multiple Netflix reality TV shows. (Harry, for his part, was on Too Hot to Handle Season 1.)
Fans also believe that one of the pieces of jewelry that Harry planned to give his ex-girlfriend was the $15,000 Van Cleef bracelet he gifted Rylee in December 2023 after their time on Dancing With the Stars. “I wanna get Rylee a gift because she put up with me for two months and she taught me how to dance,” Harry said on an episode of “Bru on the Radio” at the time. He continued, “I learned a lot about myself from being with Rylee … I was like ‘Damn, I’m really grateful and I wanna have a little trophy of her own to look at and remember the time.’”
After Harry’s podcast, Rylee seemed to address her former partner’s comments in a video on her Snapchat. “Also to all the people who have been so supportive of me today, I see you and I love you all so very much. I couldn’t have asked for a better community to be surrounded by. You are all my best friends,” she said. Two days after the podcast came out, Rylee and Harry unfollowed each other on social media.
