In 2024, the popular television reality series “Survivor” debuted with its 46th season. Q Burdette On Survivor 46
Quintavius “Q” Burdette, a native of Senatobia and former Ole Miss athlete, is one of 18 castaways vying for $1 million and the title of lone survivor on Season 46 of “Survivor,” which kicks off on CBS this Wednesday night. He was introduced to Survivor by his wife Emily, during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. She grew up watching with her family, and it has long been her favorite show. Burdette quickly became a fan, as well.
“I got hooked, and I watched every single season, every single episode, from one all the way up to, at that time, it was season 40,” Q said. “I watched them all in about three months’ time.”
He’s now participating on the show over four years later, making the most of his past life skills to play the game.
“I just knew before I ever got an opportunity to get on the show that being an athlete is going to prepare me to be competitive, to not give in and not give up,” Q said. “Being in real estate, I knew would be a plus, because I dropped into real estate not knowing anything, not knowing anybody. I came back, and I established a business and I was successful quickly by connecting with people.”
The objective of the game, which is hosted by Jeff Probst, is to outsmart, outplay, and outlast opponenets in order to survive for 26 days on a Fijian island and be the last person standing. As they build partnerships with their rivals, contestants overcome obstacles and withstand the harshness of nature.
“Just like football, you can have a game plan, and the second your toes hit that sand and you see Jeff for the first time, that crap goes out the window,” Q said. He likened it to a football team getting the ball after kickoff and immediately throwing an interception. “You had all of these plays shifted that you were going to run, now that goes out the window,” he said. “You have to go on defense.”
“Day 1, you go and it’s like, ‘OK, I’m not promised tomorrow, so I have to make today the best day,'” Q said. “Days are numbered, as we know. So for me, just getting to that moment of leaving my house, getting to Fiji and putting my feet in the sand for the first time, it was just like, ‘Oh my God, this is mind-blowing, this is a new experience and I’m all open for it.”
“It’s two hours of nothing but fun, and you have not only one Mississippi boy but two,” Q spoke in reference to French Camp castaway Hunter McKnight. “We need your support; we want your support.”

Q Burdette works as a realtor and has been recognized among the top RE/MAX agents in the United States. He started competing at the age of 8 and by the time he was a Junior in High School he had scholarships to play football and run track. He attended The University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) and played Football and ran Track on scholarship 2012-2017.
Q was able to earn my master’s degree in accounting while attending Ole Miss. Q worked in Atlanta for a Big Four accounting firm after graduating from college. After four months on the job, Q concluded that a high-energy man like me wasn’t fit to spend all day sitting in a cubicle doing figures.
To further his real estate business, he decided to return to Mississippi in 2019. His objective remained the same: to outwork everyone and demonstrate his worthiness for the chance to establish rapport and offer assistance.
