Yes, I have a PASS ID and I did put in the rez. Have been Global Entry since mid-Feb. Not sure if that makes me generally eligible or what. All I know is it worked.

Global Entry is your *get out of jail free card* Enjoy ;)

Not strictly wrong, just a slightly refined definition.

The general rule has been if two airlines (in the past only AA and DL) share a security checkpoint and PreCheck is active at that checkpoint, fliers from both airlines can use PreCheck at that checkpoint.

Since AS has clearly activated PreCheck in their system (as evidenced by people getting LLL at SEA even though the line isn't active yet), it doesn't surprise me that people would be getting it at other airports as well.

Where is this? On the Alaska website? I have been notified that I am qualified either because I'm a 75K or Global entry card holder. However, my travel partner who is MVPG and also Global entry didn't get an email from Alaska saying he is qualified?

If you have been invited, then you will get an email to opt-in to the program.

If you qualify through Global Entry/NEXUS/SENTRI, you need to enter the PASSID either in your profile on the Alaska site or when booking an individual reservation.

This would make sense since @ ORD Term 3, AS shares with AA.

I have a flight at 7AM tomorrow morning. Will let you know how PreCheck goes!

Just went through the AS Pre line at LAS. It wasn't available to AS passengers the last time I went through McCarran in late February.

Very sweet indeed,

Just talked with the MVPG desk. They have no idea how to enter the Global Entry ID onto a profile and I can't find anywhere on the website to enter it?

It's the Known Traveler number on your Traveler Profile, and you use the PASSID from your Global Entry card.

TSA Adds AS to Pre✓™ Program

Am I really the first one to post about it here?

Got to the airport this morning, and discovered there was a folding table with a couple AS representatives in front of the MVP checkin area. They said hi, gave me a cookie and directed me to the North checkpoint.

At the north checkpoint, you goblin the same line as the regular elite line, and at the desk you either get the triple beep and head right down the hallway or the regular beep and left with the unwashed masses.

Head down the hall to another check station. They check your ID and BP again, and if you pass send u thru the precheck line.

There were a ton of official looking people standing around watching the process congratulating (?) everyone that came thru the line.

Put my laptop bag and phone on the belt, walk thru the magnetometer, collect on the other side.

At no point did I have to even stop moving, and I was thru security completely in less than 1 minute. Very convenient.

Used pre-check today thru my Nexus card at Sea-tac. Really fast and easy. Surprised that my American Airlines Pre-check participation wouldn't qualify me for today but they said AS elites only. Glad I've got Nexus.

If you get iinto your profile on the website, go into My Account, Profile, Settings and Preferences and then the Traveler Profile, under International Travel Information pick Edit My Info and you'll find the space to enter your TT number.

Dear UA,

I'm as qualified as I can be and I've done everything I can do to be ready for Pre Check at SEA. I'm 1K with you and I'm MVPG with AS. I have both NEXUS and Global Entry cards. I've entered my PASSID on both my UA and AS profiles. The TSA is ready. SEA is ready. AS is ready. But I got to the airport this morning and had to truck down to a different security gate because you're not ready. Understand, it's not just that I missed out on Pre Check; it's that my security line experience was actually worse because they weren't allowing anyone but AS Pre Check pax into the N security premium line.

I love you guys. You've been great to me this year -- I'm 16 of 17 so far on upgrades. But you need to get your act together on this one.

Love,

-- seaflyguy

If one were to sign up for Global Entry first, then NEXUS later...

I may actually do that myself. Living in Los Angeles (especially working near LAX), it was easy for me to sign up for Global Entry, but very difficult to sign up for NEXUS (without first visiting Canada or one of the US cities that has an enrollment center), although I'll probably add NEXUS next time I'm near an enrollment center.

avmbaApr 26, 2012 12:30 pm

If I got the Precheck confirmation email from AS am I good to go? Will anything specific print on my BP or do I just need to let someone scan it at the North entrance in SEA to see if I get the triple beep?

thx
