DescriptionLooking for a successful project management skill, working on ambiguous/complex projects. They have an issue at their air hub that will require more technical exp – knowing how to deep dive problems, knowing what questions to ask to get to root to problems, understanding data, etc. Seeking candidates with exp with working in an operations environment. An ideal candidate would be working in warehouse operations, ideally working with material handling equipment or in fulfillment/distribution operations, specifically in an ops or ops support or PM type of role.
There’s a series of knowledge gaps that’s requiring training and retraining of operations partners. They need to learn how systems work well enough, understanding principles of complex systems, being able to partner with site learning teams/operations leaders to identify individuals who have completed specific training but showing gaps or understanding what gaps are existing to create new content to close those gaps.
Working with sortation network within Air network - airplanes come in, packages are unloaded out of large containers and inducted into a complex material handling system full of traditional conveyors and robotics sortation floor. Primary focus area is on robotics component but don’t need to know how this works to be successful. Someone with exp working with conveyors or material handling equipment. Working in a traditional distribution center with traditional conveyance is useful.
Needs: Need to come in and learn how system works and be able to partner with site learning teams leaders to identify individuals that have completed specific trainings that are still showing gaps, or identify which gaps are still in the training and how to develop content to close the gaps. Primary focus area is the Amazon robotics component within the sortation Hub.
Needs someone comfortable with commute to be onsite 5x per week
Internally they are talking about wanting 2 contractors so 1 can support the day shift and the other can support night shift. Haven’t defined schedules yet but should they require this, day shift is 5am – 1pm and night is 4pm – 12 or 1am. Doesn’t believe they need someone to be onsite at start of shift but to be onsite/available early on in the shift in case of any escalations they would need to support. TBD on this – still figuring this out. At very least they need flexibility on schedules – they want to find the right candidate and figure out schedules vs. finding candidates to fit certain schedules
