There is something that I often see missing from many smaller businesses which I feel could make all the difference:A well-defined recruitment process. A process which streamlines the potentially surprising length of time that it takes to hire someone and which ensures that the right candidates are selected for the job. One key aspect of any successful recruitment process is including exercises that mirror the requirements of the job. It sounds obvious, but you’d be surprised at how uncommon this can be in those SMEs which don’t yet have an HR team.
